Issues

As a candidate, I believe the 2010 Wisconsin Assembly Race is about three key issues:

1. Jobs.

We need to keep high paying jobs in Wisconsin by lowering taxes and reducing the overreach of state regulations. We need to be able to draw new business to the state while at the same time partner with existing businesses to help with job growth and expansion.

2. Lower personal taxes.

Our state is too large and expensive for its citizens.  We must lower spending and restrict government growth.  Additional programs are acceptable only when costs can be paid for with the state economic growth, not by increasing tax rates or fees.

3. Be Accountable to the Voters.

We as taxpayers and the employers of our representatives deserve honest and ethical leadership. We must end the finger pointing, midnight illusionary budgets, budgets that use funds from one program to fund another unrelated program, and added laws and mandates that will not stand on their own merits.

My views on other issues:

The Second Amendment

We a have a Constitutional right to bear arms for hunting, sport shooting, and for the defense of our families. We should be consistent with the approximately 48 other states that allow for concealed carry for responsible citizens of Wisconsin.

Tenth Amendment

We as a State should re-establish our Tenth Amendment rights given to us in the Constitution that have been and continue to be usurped by the federal government. This includes opting out of unfunded mandates and unconstitutional laws such as national heath care if passed.

Right to Life

I believe in the sanctity of all life, especially the unborn children who do not have a way to protect themselves from harm. This is a God given right for all human’s and goes to the moral fiber of our nation.

We must not have public funding for abortions nor allow our universities to be involved in this practice.  Marriage

Family & Marriage

Our nation was built upon the power of the nuclear family unit. The continuing increase in the number of children born out wedlock is an increasing issue and cost to the taxpayers as we subsidize this lifestyle. The cost in social programs and prisons is unsustainable. We need to restore the family and acknowledge that marriage is between one man and one woman. This definition of marriage has been the backbone of our nation’s families for over 200 years and needs to be protected from the special interests that are working to redefine marriage to fit their lifestyles.
